After a night at the YPF petrol station in Carril we drive through the Quabrada Del Escoipe towards Cachi. It's a tarmac road until you get to the famous Cuesta Del Obispo. For about 16 kilometres the road is just sand and dust through all the sharp switchbacks. We had planned to stay on a campground in Cachi for a few days but disaster strikes and we end up with a major clutch problem.
We are now on the road for 20 years and it is not the first time one of our two motorhomes has a severe problem. But as always help is nearby. Nelson, one of the few mechanics in Cachi, lives right on the corner where we broke down and somehow he manages to get the clutch connected again after 2 days and one long night of hard work. Amazing!
