From Cayenne we fly to the Carribean island of Martinique - our second destination on this 5 week trip. We stay in an excellent apartment for 6 nights in Fort-de-France, right smackbang in the heart of the historical center that is packed with thousands of people for 5 days during one of the biggest festivals in the Caribbean - Martinique's Carnival with spectacular parades, colourful costumes and French Caribbean culture.
