The next day we also explore the northern part of Martinique. Our first stop is the famous Balata church before we continue on a very curvy road to the Northwest of Martinique to Saint-Pierre which was completely destroyed by the 1902 eruption of the Mount Pelée volcano. Afterwards we drive across the island to the eastern coast and visit the famous Saint-James rum distillery.
